Sally PerkinsSally Perkins is a teacher / consultant of presentational speaking and a professional storyteller. Holding a Ph.D. in rhetoric from the University of Kansas, Sally has taught presentational speaking for 26 years. Currently she teaches “Speech for Business” at Butler University. She also conducts workshops on presentational speaking and coaches individuals within organizations to become more commanding presenters.

In her consulting work, Sally offers workshops and individual coaching to senior executives from a variety of organizations. Her clients have included Eli Lilly & Company, First Merchants Banks, Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, and Boy Scouts of America. As a storyteller, Sally entertains audiences public events such as ZooBoo at the Indianapolis Zoo and “Scary Stories on the Canal,” sponsored by Storytelling Arts of Indiana. In 2009 she was one of two recipients of the Frank Basile Emerging Stories Fellowship through Storytelling Arts of Indiana. In 2011 she was commissioned by Indiana Landmarks and Storytelling Arts of Indiana to create and tell a one-hour story of the people of the historic Central Avenue Methodist Church for the grand re-opening of the church building, now the Indiana Landmarks Center. Most recently she was commissioned by the Indiana Historical Society to develop and perform a one-hour story on the notorious criminal John Dillinger.

In her spare time, you can find Sally at Riley Children’s Hospital, weaving tales to young listeners who need a few distractions.
